Frequently Asked Questions

How should I care for my Kalyss jewelry?

Avoid exposure to perfumes, chemicals, and salt water. Remove your pieces before swimming or showering. To clean, gently polish with a soft cloth. For gold-plated items, avoid abrasive surfaces.

Materials Used

At Kalyss, we work with a carefully curated selection of materials chosen for their timeless beauty, durability, and energetic resonance.

Our jewelry is handcrafted using:

  • Sterling Silver (925) – A precious metal known for its brightness and strength. All our silver is ethically sourced and carefully polished or oxidized for a refined finish.

  • Gold-Plated Silver – We use 22-karat or 24-karat gold plating over sterling silver for a warm, radiant tone. These pieces are sealed to prolong the life of the plating, though care is still recommended (see below).

  • Solid Gold – For selected pieces, we work with 9k, 14k, and 18k solid gold, handcrafted to last a lifetime. Each alloy has a different tone and weight — our solid gold pieces are made to order and hallmarked.

  • Gemstones & Crystals – Every stone is hand-selected for its natural beauty and energetic properties. We work with a wide range: from Colombian emeralds and Herkimer diamonds to topaz, ruby, peridot, tourmaline, quartz, and labradorite. We use both natural and high-quality lab-grown stones, always disclosing which is used in each piece.

  • Freshwater Pearls & Tahitian Pearls – Organic treasures of the sea, each pearl is unique and brings softness, wisdom, and depth to our designs.

  • Moissanite – A brilliant, sustainable alternative to diamonds, offering exceptional sparkle and durability.

  • Sterling Silver Frames & Hand-Carved Settings – Many of our pendants and stones are housed in sculpted silver or gold-plated silver frames, designed in-house to reflect Atlantean and oceanic inspirations.

We believe that every material carries a frequency — and we treat each element as sacred.

Can I wear your pieces every day?

Yes — many of our pieces are made to be lived in. Solid gold and sterling silver options are particularly durable. However, softer stones like opal or peridot benefit from gentle handling.

Are your stones ethically sourced?

We work with trusted suppliers and artisans around the world, selecting stones that align with our ethical and energetic standards. Most stones are handpicked during sourcing trips in India and other crystal-rich regions.

Do you accept custom orders?

Yes — we create custom pieces in both silver and gold. If you have a vision or a specific stone in mind, reach out to us and we’ll co-create a one-of-a-kind piece together.

Where is Kalyss jewelry made?

Each piece is handcrafted in our Berlin studio, with select work done in collaboration with artisan partners abroad. Every detail is infused with intention and soul.

Do your pieces come with a certificate?

All solid gold and fine gemstone pieces come with a certificate of authenticity. For high-value items, we also offer optional appraisals or lab reports on request.

How to Measure Your Ring Size

Finding your perfect ring size at home is simple. You can either measure the inside of a ring you already own or wrap a strip of paper around your finger.

Option 1: Using a Ring You Own
Choose a ring that fits the intended finger and measure the inside diameter with a ruler (in millimeters). Most common sizes are:

  • Size 47: 15.0 mm

  • Size 48: 15.3 mm

  • Size 49: 15.6 mm

  • Size 50: 15.9 mm

  • Size 51: 16.2 mm

  • Size 52: 16.5 mm

  • Size 53: 16.8 mm

  • Size 54: 17.2 mm

  • Size 55: 17.5 mm

  • Size 56: 17.8 mm

  • Size 57: 18.1 mm

  • Size 58: 18.4 mm

  • Size 59: 18.7 mm

  • Size 60: 19.0 mm

Option 2: Paper or String Method
Wrap a strip of paper or non-stretch string snugly around the base of your finger. Mark where the two ends meet and measure the length in millimeters. That number is the circumference of your finger — match it to the sizes above to find the right fit.

Tips:

  • Measure your finger at the end of the day, when it’s slightly larger.

  • Avoid measuring when your hands are cold.

  • If you're between sizes, we recommend going one size up for comfort.
